Adventure Island II

Master Higgins returns in a great sequel to rescue his beloved island princess again from the evil Witch Doctor.  The game plays almost exactly like the original, but the game is noticeably easier than the first game, a good thing, yet it's still hard. Better graphics, music, and new dinosaur helpers add to the gameplay. As with the original, Higgins is on a stamina timer that can only be replenished by collecting food, so you can't go through the levels slowly. A unlimited continue feature is welcome, but the game still has the same play control problems with stopping and jumping . Also if you die, you lose your weapon, which makes later levels nearly impossible to complete. Fortunately, there are now many short levels in the eight islands instead of four very long, very long ones. Overall, a nice game, but it could use more improvements in gameplay, not just a graphical and audio facelift.
