Bigfoot
No, this isn't a game about the mysterious monster who appears in the Northwest United States and is seen by drunk rednecks. It's Bigfoot, the former monster truck- hey, what ever happened to to road headhunter? Some of you may remember Bigfoot from the cartoon show Acclaim's Masters of the Game/Video Power. Others might have actually went to a monster truck rally, which is only second to professional wrestling in terms of high-cultured entertainment, and seen the titan. Since Monster Truck rallies aren't all that great to begin with, don't expect much from Bigfoot, the game I can add to my thesis that there are no great racing games for the NES. Bigfoot divides itself into two alternating kinds of stages: a bird's eye view race and a view from the side, car destruction-related stage. Neither of them is good. The bird's eye view doesn't possess the true qualities of a race, both Bigfoot and his opponent have the same speed; to win you must out-maneuver your rival. The car-smashing stages are virtually impossible to win; your rival drives quickly while you must press the left and right directional keys back and forth extremely quickly to have a prayer. With mediocre graphics and sound and bad play control, Bigfoot's just not fun.
