Bill & Ted's Excellent Video Game Adventure

Warning: this is an LJN game! Repeat: this is an LJN game!

Actually, Bill and Ted's isn't a bad game, it has good graphics and an interesting premise: find historical people in the wrong timelines and send them back to where they belong, but the delivery found itself dropped on the head. (BTW, Nintendo did a much better job with this idea in StarTropics 2.) Although, Bill and Ted's has acceptable graphics, the music is just flat-out annoying. Sometimes it amazes me that Konami could produce such inspired music on an 8-bit system and LJN turns out the saddest excuses for tencho music. The play control is awful and really hurts the fun of this game. Basically the areas are gratuitously large and finding items presents quite a challenge. Bizzare directional control only compunds on the problem. It took me 75 minutes just to finish level 1 and God knows why you have to travel through the phonelines of time BEFORE you can play the game.

The Verdict: Less "excellent" more "bogus."
