NES game
collecting
Here it is the reason your here because you like NES games and this is a
short guide on collecting.I don't have many NES games anymore, but I used
to have about 150 and I know a bit about collecting.
-
STORES
Try and find a good place to shop for NES games, like a store that carries
old games for a reasonable price. I buy all my NES games from this store
called Game Force. Game Force is a little steep ($5 a game), but they have
an excellent selection of rare or hard to find games.Your best bet would
probably be Funcoland. They have pretty
good prices and a large selection most of the time.
-
PRICES
NES games prices can very from $.10 to $50.00, but you want to know how much
to pay for a certain game. The way is works isn't always that simple because
some extremely rare games sell for $.29 so all I can say is don't pay anything
over $10.00. Because no NES game is worth paying over $10.00
for.
-
BARGAINING
Not all stores will let you haggle them for a better price, but most people
will.So if you are buying a game from a friend and he says $6.00 automatically
say $4.00.You might be surprised at how good a deal you can get doing
this.
-
WHAT GAMES?
You want to have a good mix of rare games and common games. So here are a
list of must haves:
-
Super Mario 1,2,3
If you don't have these you have no business calling yourself a NES
freak.
-
Zelda 1,2
2 of the best games ever made.
Tecmo Bowl
The best football game ever made.
-
Arch Rivals or Double Dribble
You should get at least one of these.
-
Contra 1,2
Classics
-
Ninja Gaiden
A great game that is fun to play
-
River City Ransom
One of the best street fighting games there is
-
Blaster Master
One of the best NES games ever
-
Final Fantasy
The game that started it all
-
3D World Runner
The NES attempt at 3D turned out really good.
-
And of course many others I am to lazy to name.
GAMES THAT SUCK
Some people out there like to collect games that suck. I don't really know
why you would do this unless there was nothing left. It seems to me like
a waste of money, but if that's your thing go for it. You probably would
not want to spend very much money per game if they suck. $1.50 to $2.00 is
reasonable. Just hunt around and look at games you have never heard of. This
is how you can find crappy games.
I hoped this has helped you. To submit suggestions or comments
