Dragon Warrior 2

After starting one of the most popular RPG games in history, Dragon Warrior, Enix made a very intelligent decision and released a far superior sequel. You play not one, not two, but three descendants of the Great Edrick in a sequel taking place 100 years after the original Dragon Warrior. To be fitting, the game's world is now three times as large as DW1, although ironically, you can visit the original land in DW1, but it has been microsized. This time, the Evil Wizard Hargon has started to take over the world. You play a prince who must find the two other descendants and kick some wizard ass. Your quest this time has much more complex puzzles and land structure than the original, meaning that you will fight more monsters as you make wrong turns in dungeons and towers. You also get a ship to travel the seas in Part 2, just imagine how easy DW1 if you had that! To balance out your team, the first prince can only fight and has no magic, the second prince uses both fighting and magic moderately well, and the princess can't fight well at all but has awesome magical ability. Leveling up doesn't take an eternity in the sequel, but after a while, leveling up takes a very long time find, even though you are forced to fight challenging enemies. back luck can really kill you here. Example: you just don't a lot of hit points in this game. In the Sun Crest Tower (you must go here to beat the game) you can easily run into 7 Dragonlizards which all breath fire which takes away 15 HPs regardless of how well you are defended. Well, pray to the Goddess of Luck, cause if you can't dispatch of the monsters before they attack your screwed because your highest player only has a maximum of 79 HPs even though his level is 20+. Even with these setbacks, Dragon Warrior 2 is arguably a better RPG than Final Fantasy. The next games just improve and improve. BTW, I would love to see subtitled Dragon Warrior anime from Japan, but not many fansubbers are translating it.
