Nolan Prather The Boy Who Went Back in Time It was a hot summer night, in Orlando where the Prather family was vacationing for the week. The oldest son Nolan decided that he would check out the arcade that the hotel had, to see if there were any old arcade games he hadn't played yet. So as Nolan walked inside he could hear what seemed like millions of little kids chatting away at how this game had good graphics and that game had good sound. The funny thing was he did not hear the slightest mention of fun factor or replay value. Nolan chose to ignore it though. He had heard this type of talk before, always from the young or the ignorant that would choose the way a game looks over how it plays. He looked around the arcade for about five minutes. Eying all the machines and seeing none that looked familiar. Finally he decided to try a new game. He slipped his 50 cents into a game called Street Fighter vs X-men. As he played the game, round by round, fight by fight, he relized that even though he had never played this game before he was about to beat it. These games supplied no challenge at all. They were just an ugly game with a pretty face. He could not take it anymore, he screamed at the top of his lungs "AAAAAH". The whole crowd of people in the arcade turned and stared at him, as one kid asked "What is wrong? That game is one of the best out now." That is when it hit him. He could not live in evil 1998 anymore. Nolan ran from the arcade, as the crowd split into two parts. He knew what he had to do. The hotel was only a few miles away from Universal Studios. He knew once he got there he could set everything right. After a long run and two dog bites later he was finally there. Nolan could see the guard, soundly asleep by the door. He crept through as quietly as he possibly could careful not to wake the guard. Just when he was about to slide right through the door his sack of quarters from the arcade fell from the strap on his belt with a CLANK! The guard stured a bit. Nolan was terrified, he stood as straight as a board. The guard gnawed a bit and then went back to sleep. Nolan proceeded through the door, he walked through a few very large rooms until he saw it. It was the answer to all his problems. The DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future. After standing admiring it, he ran to the end of the room where the key laid behind a thin sheet of glass. Nolan quickly broke the glass with the chain to his wallet. This triggered a alarm signaling the Universal Studio's police. Nolan had to move fast. He jumped into the DeLorean, started the engine, and floored it. He was going to have to move fast. There was enough space in the giant room for him to manuever the DeLorean around the other attractions, and through the open garage door. Fortunatly for Nolan, it was close to 2 am and there was not much traffic on the road. The police were right on his tail. He shifted to second gear he was doing about 55 mph. He was going to have to do much better than that if he was going to go back in time. Within minutes he was on a completely open street, it was now or never. Nolan set the time meter to read 1989, he was going back to a time where people cared about how fun the game was. Nolan shifted to fifth gear, he was pushing it as far as he could. He only had about fifteen more seconds to get up to 88 mhp. He closed his eyes and slammed his foot on the pedal as hard as he could. The police were still right behind him waiting for the first oppurtunity they had to arrest him. At the last second Nolan reached 88 mph, transfering him back to 1989. Nolan lived out the rest of his days in the 1980's. Everytime January 1, 1990 came around Nolan went back to 1989. Until one day when he decided to make a webpage... Nolan Prather
